RAW landscape

In “RAW landscape” we will learn the process from previsualization through photographing a subject to the printed “fine art” image. The subject is the magnificent Icelandic Landscape. The workshop consist of assignments and short reviews to greatly improve your skill in photography. The focus is on getting past camera function to be able to focus on the aesthetics of the final artwork.

In order to get the most out of the equipment one must understand the basics of photography. The basic is simple but cameras are complicated tools! We teach numerous techniques both simple and advanced. Aesthetics are of great importance of course. We spend some time improving your eye and honing your style. Digital transfer of raw files is essential and editing in proper software is a skill one can never fully master. We’ll get you up to date and up to speed with the whole digital workflow.

RAW adventure

This workshop is all about action and adventure. It’s about capturing the action, the sport, the great outdoors and the wild nature. It’s about honing your skills in photography and fill in the gaps. We will surely improve your vision and then you’ll take our creative input and technical know how with you wherever you go in the future. The lessons are informal hands-on instructions.

There will be less formal workshop lessons. It’s more of me helping you out if and when you need it. When you do nothing else for a week or two days but explore a land with a camera in hand you will greatly improve your skill by simply learn by doing. I’ll throw you some tips or tricks every now and then to keep you sharp and focused.

The RAW adventure workshops require some more physical effort. We’ll be exploring a rougher terrain, steeper hills and crossing more white water. We’ll photograph from the top of the mountain instead of pointing the camera at them from distance. The main purpose is to travel the interiour of Iceland and photograph its most amazing scenery. We use lighter gear but still wear our boots out.

RAW nature

With RAW nature we mean the flora and the fauna of Iceland. Perhaps the local people as well.

Fast flying birds call for specific techniques and longer lenses. Putting up camera close to a bird’s nest with remote triggering. Shooting from a moving boat and scrambling up steep hills with your gear is also demanding. We teach numerous techniques both simple and advanced.

This workshop is a mixture of fine art landscape photography and learning the basic of photographing beautiful models on location with studio strobes.
